What a report looks like

A real output of this exact engine — measured on an AI-generated face, so no one’s actual data is shown. Same math you get, nothing mocked.

Note the honest shape of a real report: this sample has a clear weak metric (jaw width) and still lands at the top of the scale — one weak feature is not a verdict, and the overall score is a weighted whole.

The weighted overall maps onto a fixed curve: your 1–10 attractiveness rating and exact percentile. The same run also reports a stricter PSL reading. No inflation, ever.

Reference targets are cross-checked against published facial anthropometry (Farkas) and attractiveness research (e.g. Rhodes 2006 meta-analysis) — details in the methodology & sources section. methodology & sources.

Reading your score

Two numbers matter: your 1–10 attractiveness rating and your percentile. On this scale the median face sits near 6.4, and 7.4 already means clearly above average. The curve is fixed — nothing here is inflated.

Your percentile card is the fairest comparison: it shows exactly where you stand on the distribution — no curved scale, no flattery.

The same measurement also reports a stricter PSL score — read the PSL scale guide →

Casual ratings change with the lighting. You need a fixed ruler.

The score is a starting point, not a verdict

Your result is saved anonymously on your device. Come back in 30 days, retake under the same conditions, and see which dimension moved — tracking progress is the whole point of measuring.

A note on measurement and worth

FaceRuler measures geometric features against community reference values. It does not measure a person’s worth, character or future. If a score starts affecting how you feel about yourself — your mood, eating, or social life — please step away from rating tools and talk to someone you trust. For support resources, see NAMI Help.

Frequently asked

Is it really free?

Yes. Your PSL score, percentile, tier and the five-dimension breakdown are free — no account, no credits, no sign-up. We only ever charge for deep-dive reports; the score itself stays free forever.

Do you store my photo?

Free measuring runs entirely in your browser — the photo never leaves your device. Unlocking the AI deep report can optionally attach your photo, used only to generate that one readout and never stored; leave it unchecked and only your measurement numbers are used.

What kind of photo should I upload?

A front-facing photo with your hair off your forehead, a neutral closed-mouth expression, even lighting, and no glasses or filters. Head rotation distorts the ratio readings the most — the straighter the photo, the more accurate the score.

How does this attractiveness test work?

A face-landmark model marks 478 points on your photo, ten geometric ratios are measured against published reference values, and you get a casual 1–10 rating plus a percentile. It runs entirely in your browser — the photo is never uploaded.

What is a good attractiveness score?

On the casual 1–10 scale the median face sits near 6.4, and 7.4 already means clearly above average. Your percentile card is the fairest comparison: it shows exactly where you stand against the distribution.

What's the difference between the 1–10 rating and the PSL score?

The 1–10 rating is the everyday scale anyone can read. The PSL score is the stricter 0–8 scale from the looksmaxxing community, with its median anchored at 4.0, not 5. One measurement reports both — use whichever speaks your language.

How is my score calculated?

A face-landmark model marks 478 points on your photo, then geometric formulas measure symmetry, proportions, structure and eyes against public reference targets. Every weight is published — nothing is a black box.

Is the score the same every time I upload the same photo?

Yes. The engine is deterministic: identical landmarks always produce an identical score. No random model guesses, no drift between runs.

Can my score change?

Yes — that is the point of a fixed scale. Leanness and grooming measurably move readings within months. Retake under the same conditions in 30 days and the delta is real signal.

Does it work for women?

The engine measures the same geometry for everyone and reports both the PSL scale and a casual 1–10 reading. Female community tiers (Becky / HTB / Stacy) are covered in the guide.

What if my score feels low?

Landing in the middle 50% is the body of the human bell curve, not an insult (that is roughly 4.4 on the stricter PSL scale). Scores are geometric measurements, not a judgement of worth. If rating tools start affecting how you feel, step away; resources are linked at the bottom of this page.
